President's Message - Brian Shackleton
Welcome back to all of our great fans for another year of Jr. B hockey.
The 2008-09 hockey season looks like an exciting one. You will have the opportunity to see teams from both the Western League and Golden Horseshoe League as we have an interlocking schedule this year. We will play 6 inter-league games in total, which will increase our schedule to 54 games. Two of these games will be played at a Thanksgiving Tournament in St. Catharines. This season’s Prospects Game will be held in Sarnia and if last year in Stratford is any indication, there will be lots of talent and Scouts in attendance.
We welcome Phil, Dan, Ross and Cory back behind the bench. They have assembled a solid group of returning players and have combined them with a few exciting fresh faces. It will prove very entertaining for you, our fans, to watch this talented young team.
I also would like to take the opportunity to thank our fans for their loyal support and our volunteers and our Directors for the countless hours they give to The Hockey Club. A big thank-you to our sponsor Culliton Brothers Ltd. It would be impossible to operate at the level we strive to without the financial support of Culliton Brothers and many other businesses in and around our community who support us by way of program and web ads, supporter group, outright donations, rink board purchases- the list goes on and encompasses hundreds of businesses that so generously enable the Stratford Cullitons to provide a quality hockey program that positively develops young men's lives not only in hockey but also in sportsmanship, education and life in general.
